But for the last few years I've used mainly Twitter for microblogging, sharing new art, work in progress, etc.<br /><br />But now, that it's going to hell right know and any other social media platform became a pain in the butt for artists, I'd like to share my art on my little safe space again. where I just can write about it again without limits, doing little experiments, showing the process, you get it. 😆<br /><br />So for today I wanna share my first shikishi artwork! A few years ago I bought these Shikishis from a store (I forgot wich one it was. 💦)<br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6_3tKUu5CMh7zf83VJ6S4HVrvN78SHqCShrJ0xeV8jU7TLYfL2kTWoynBWC0A9WtsxiGbC8eEFfdjdIEfgYHFP972ZMRau21u6JLvxzSHNWFMu9Xsds422Xfucnz_zTapmOFs-5N6-eTfyiJ2tVB_F24zTorwE55ES-8VNi7SYyYuW9GJcOgym3cqbAY/s1087/shikishi_00.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="926" data-original-width="1087" height="273" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6_3tKUu5CMh7zf83VJ6S4HVrvN78SHqCShrJ0xeV8jU7TLYfL2kTWoynBWC0A9WtsxiGbC8eEFfdjdIEfgYHFP972ZMRau21u6JLvxzSHNWFMu9Xsds422Xfucnz_zTapmOFs-5N6-eTfyiJ2tVB_F24zTorwE55ES-8VNi7SYyYuW9GJcOgym3cqbAY/s320/shikishi_00.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />I do have to work on a comission very soon on these shikishi, I wanted to do a little test run. Just to see what works the best on the paper.<br /><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMZNEayObPMX_vGKvi4WDynpTprdhRNAd9n-_k3kD6gxa30VhuxvTalKe_mmTNahzKmPNEBpOumIVHt5mPlPEvyszXLT21Xfzzb9i7Bg26ygB7op6YC4aFMxy_vvM6cvPBabeIHf53D3-SpsenTN8xKmJc8732NJIHrAqWq8-gsYYOI1ODikiCbzjstms/s1500/shikishi_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1500" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMZNEayObPMX_vGKvi4WDynpTprdhRNAd9n-_k3kD6gxa30VhuxvTalKe_mmTNahzKmPNEBpOumIVHt5mPlPEvyszXLT21Xfzzb9i7Bg26ygB7op6YC4aFMxy_vvM6cvPBabeIHf53D3-SpsenTN8xKmJc8732NJIHrAqWq8-gsYYOI1ODikiCbzjstms/s320/shikishi_01.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>And this came out of it! I used the blue Pilot Color Eno for the first sketch (love these pencils!) and my new Pentel Orenz mechanical pencil. At first, I did not want to color it. buuuuuuuut.......<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju1bAmF7s3-Wa1fZ47lt6CpW6P5oYo3hXPPs5iJ1wJTNf7mo44eVj1sCcFvsooH90pmvL-v27fNMk0wsFJhFHy6e_wZwxsJa8tGJoylXrYYQs5njTbxHfEomHm0I5FusxYF2Qn4BHgOp1WJhUwRaH6K4tgX-zhCNjQYy2SzKAErAKwghqL3VEwFXkG0oI/s1080/shikishi_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="930" data-original-width="1080" height="276" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju1bAmF7s3-Wa1fZ47lt6CpW6P5oYo3hXPPs5iJ1wJTNf7mo44eVj1sCcFvsooH90pmvL-v27fNMk0wsFJhFHy6e_wZwxsJa8tGJoylXrYYQs5njTbxHfEomHm0I5FusxYF2Qn4BHgOp1WJhUwRaH6K4tgX-zhCNjQYy2SzKAErAKwghqL3VEwFXkG0oI/s320/shikishi_02.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />I've changed my mind and started coloring it with my copic markers. It's also been.... at least 2 years since I've used them. I'm still in a renovating process at home, so most of my traditional drawing stuff is just chilling in their shelves. <br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7byKpk-VS504jbPC0H-gTh03nFOQhdbAiJWn8o1t3hNgjBX8KDIruGAg6O6dxGPgmQpvqk2u92ivrCmjv0XicS5Odze69MXzflO4WjTo-w4lfeOHxMnoXWKsiIm2x2uy-LNhFg3DhVfNu8enc_12579b2tZegnc9kOp7lTnQTJOduoE6UyL0c6G6r3MI/s1083/shikishi_03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1083" data-original-width="1048" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7byKpk-VS504jbPC0H-gTh03nFOQhdbAiJWn8o1t3hNgjBX8KDIruGAg6O6dxGPgmQpvqk2u92ivrCmjv0XicS5Odze69MXzflO4WjTo-w4lfeOHxMnoXWKsiIm2x2uy-LNhFg3DhVfNu8enc_12579b2tZegnc9kOp7lTnQTJOduoE6UyL0c6G6r3MI/s320/shikishi_03.jpg" width="310" /></a></div><br />And here's a photo of the final result! I'm not 100% happy with the colors, but it's okay for the test object. 😂 while coloring it, I discovered how much I miss working on traditional artworks. It's so much fun! I'm also a little rusty coloring with the markers, but guess I'll have to practise now more often~ 🤷😆 <br /><br />See ya next post! <br />Miyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18303606383704279995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6459261867612473757.post-91600173947035302602018-12-28T04:07:00.001+01:002023-10-03T15:49:35.261+02:00About my Web-Manga "Frog Out"<p>Those who have been following me for a while know that I have been working on my manga "Soulmate" for many years and have tried out ideas for realisation every now and then and of course discarded everything again. :D<br /><br />It's a very big and looooong story, so it's going to take me some time to get all the pieces of the puzzle together and really start working on it. Until then, I'd still like to learn to work on a web manga and get back into paneling and storytelling. For that I need a much shorter story than Soulmate.<br />
<br />My original plan was to revive my old Doujinshi called <b>Cursed Angel </b>(which I'll probably rename), but I wasn't quite so happy with that because I have lots of revising to do there too. <br /><br />I had to wait a bit longer for the train after work last summer (again....) but luckily I had my Pocket-Moli (short for Moleksine Sketchbook Pocket) with me, so my Sketchbook To-Go, and I scribbled the following into it:<br />
</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-71uDCMjkE50/XCWI3TB-K0I/AAAAAAAACDs/6qWGxOGpodEVfLk1zIgCJGIR-uLK_jDxQCLcBGAs/s1600/frogirlfirst.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-71uDCMjkE50/XCWI3TB-K0I/AAAAAAAACDs/6qWGxOGpodEVfLk1zIgCJGIR-uLK_jDxQCLcBGAs/s320/frogirlfirst.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />A frog magical girl! I don't know, somehow she was suddenly in my head. Just for fun I made some sketches of her and I liked her more and more. Suddenly it went very fast, she got a "normal form" and a name: <b>Ranae </b>(<i>Latin for Frog</i>) <b>Katō </b>(<i>Japanese for tadpole</i>).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S3gCaKFSTPM/XCWJ-jSabfI/AAAAAAAACD0/PBO05hsDEbgcjEiHEu_6OKrkJzpVgMUTwCLcBGAs/s1600/ranaefroggirl_01.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S3gCaKFSTPM/XCWJ-jSabfI/AAAAAAAACD0/PBO05hsDEbgcjEiHEu_6OKrkJzpVgMUTwCLcBGAs/s320/ranaefroggirl_01.png" width="307" /></a></div>
<br />And as it happens, my brain just won't shut up and quickly spun a story around Ranae and Frog Girl. Frog Girl is her name in her Magical Girl form.<i> Really creative name, right?</i> xD Actually, it was supposed to be a placeholder until I come up with something better, but I've gotten used to the name by now, so I'm keeping it.<br />
<br />Back to the topic: I quickly had a story with an opponent, a task, secondary characters and a setting. What also came quite spontaneously: The title!<br />Because Ranae is a Frog Magical-Gril, I wanted something with <b>Frog </b>in the title. Partly the story gets a bit weird, so in the back of my mind I always had "Freak-Out", which I then changed to <b>"Frog Out"</b>. I first thought "wow, that's so genius" and when I googled it: was taken already. For a game. XD <br /><i>Maybe I can use it anyways???</i><br />
<br />
I had originally wanted to keep the story short with 1-2 chapters, but now I have 5.<br />Which is still okay and relatively "short". As I said, my brain won't shut up.<br />
<br />But I'm really looking forward to drawing the story! I've grown so fond of Ranae and the other characters (which I'll show in a later post). At the moment I'm designing the environment. Where Ranae lives, her school, other places they hang out... that is NOT one of my strong points. Backgrounds are my nemesis, so it's going to take me a while, but I'm planning to start sketching the first chapter very soon.<br />
<br />Test pages, drafts and intermediate steps I will of course post here ^___^~<br />

Generally I prefer to work traditionally at the moment, because I did so many CG's before and now I just want to feel the PAPER again!<br />
<br />
</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7pzqndx21Qw/UBA_WvAL-AI/AAAAAAAABFo/3icARnjNaes/s1600/kakaohaufen.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="217" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7pzqndx21Qw/UBA_WvAL-AI/AAAAAAAABFo/3icARnjNaes/s320/kakaohaufen.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>These are my current cards *____* I left the old ones in my folder. XD ATM I made about 40 and<i> have already traded a few cards.</i><br /><br />To get back into it, I started a little challenge last week:<br />Make an ACEO card of a male character every day for one week. (Mostly because I suck at drawing male characters, lol)<br /><br />The Result:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T1pBImlGPIw/UBA_BNXU7bI/AAAAAAAABFI/MVcjfgy7SzI/s1600/Kakaos.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="220" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T1pBImlGPIw/UBA_BNXU7bI/AAAAAAAABFI/MVcjfgy7SzI/s320/Kakaos.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I can only recommend it, it was really fun *_* (except the yellow one with Kurai, it just failed... XD)<br />The cards are all coloured with Markers, For one card I've used golden ink I just bought. :3<br /><br />And I've used it for another card:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QktKKFlTaDw/UBA_JgE1-JI/AAAAAAAABFg/Exwl3TXsIu8/s1600/kakao_mercedes.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QktKKFlTaDw/UBA_JgE1-JI/AAAAAAAABFg/Exwl3TXsIu8/s320/kakao_mercedes.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>This is Mercedes from MapleStory<br /></i><br /></div><div>
I've recently started designing the backs of my cards too, and THIS is <u><b>Seena's fault,</b></u> (haha) for introducing me into <b>motif paper!</b> XD It's so addictive!<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">For the test I bought a few normal sheets<br /></div><div>

We got other classes like 'drawing techs' were we learn different techniques and the fabled tale about "<i><b>finding your own stroke</b></i>". We also got 'conceptional art' that is really interesting aswell. It's all about planning a project and the implementation.<br />But in between I manage to draw something manga-like stuff:<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KISdXLtL6bs/Tq8LEErmqPI/AAAAAAAAAgU/1OIYXk83sLs/s1600/ws_02.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5669762620486756594" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KISdXLtL6bs/Tq8LEErmqPI/AAAAAAAAAgU/1OIYXk83sLs/s400/ws_02.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 400px; width: 292px;" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nqPeTSPvpfY/Tq8LQz5d1cI/AAAAAAAAAgg/RcvBCp5ZD3o/s1600/mado.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5669762839319795138" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nqPeTSPvpfY/Tq8LQz5d1cI/AAAAAAAAAgg/RcvBCp5ZD3o/s400/mado.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 400px; width: 262px;" /></a><br /><br />I also managed to finish a 'small' illustration!<br />It was more of an experiment with ink and screentones:<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HB22cstaWqo/Tq8MR4Gq_NI/AAAAAAAAAgs/QHk0trCC0Vs/s1600/30-10-2011-dayandnight.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5669763957140421842" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HB22cstaWqo/Tq8MR4Gq_NI/AAAAAAAAAgs/QHk0trCC0Vs/s400/30-10-2011-dayandnight.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 400px; width: 283px;" /></a><br />Miyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18303606383704279995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6459261867612473757.post-61320418528895163512011-10-09T23:11:00.005+02:002023-09-24T20:12:36.095+02:00weekly sketches II try again and again.<br />To stay in practice, I always try to do a sketch every day.<br />But due to a busy daily shedule (work, university, homeworks) it's sometimes hard to keep it up. <br /><br />So I'm trying this: At the end of each week, on Sundays, I'll blog all the sketches I've done that week. So every Sunday there will be the weekly sketches. =)<br /><br />So, here is number one of the weekly sketches! <br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fuNGW853aU8/TpIO2aCBRxI/AAAAAAAAAec/1VDizcSTvsM/s1600/Wochenskizzen01.png" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5661604009421653778" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fuNGW853aU8/TpIO2aCBRxI/AAAAAAAAAec/1VDizcSTvsM/s400/Wochenskizzen01.png" style="cursor: pointer; height: 400px; width: 133px;" /></a><br /><br />Miyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18303606383704279995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6459261867612473757.post-72453799862062419172011-10-04T00:08:00.010+02:002023-09-24T20:08:31.915+02:00B-Day gifts *___*<div>I had my birthday almost 3 weeks ago and got some great presents... <br />I just HAVE to show you them! *_*"<br /><br />Since I am so badly flashed by Madoka Magica this year, I surprisingly also got something from Madoka Magica (haha) packed in a beautiful selfmade box:<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tasYHuX8-fg/Tooze7rXDjI/AAAAAAAAAdY/Il1Q1bich5w/s1600/QBox.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5659392488253099570" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tasYHuX8-fg/Tooze7rXDjI/AAAAAAAAAdY/Il1Q1bich5w/s400/QBox.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; float: left; height: 288px; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; width: 400px;" /></a> For insiders: YES, that is a QB box! <br />A white box drawn with QB's face on it XD TOTALLY awesome. It really topped the LBM this year, I didn't expect it *O*~<br /><br />I was there on Friday and Saturday. Together with my dear friends Val, Jessi and Sanny <i>who joined us on Saturday, we gave her the ticket for her birthday!</i><br /><br />And I planned to do a lot of shopping but, ...well. Originally I wanted to buy a lot of Madoka Magica merchandise and I went through the shopping area multiple times:<br /><br /><b>.... nothing.</b><br />Absolutely nothing.<br />Except at the OCS Store's booth you could buy the manga for the series (totally overpriced!) and an anime artbook (I didn't like it), that's it!<br /><br />No keychains, plushies, stand-up dolls, posters, knick-knacks and I REALLY wanted to buy knick-knacks XD but then there's nothing! But Naruto merch everywhere you could look!<br /><br /><br />But I watched the first episode with Val again at the anime cinema and found some other things!<br />Here is a photo of my smol haul:<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o1nK4jUSQhI/TjcCETJxJQI/AAAAAAAAAYw/NNAqHx5LPDg/s1600/animagic_ausbeute_x3.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5635975731561440514" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o1nK4jUSQhI/TjcCETJxJQI/AAAAAAAAAYw/NNAqHx5LPDg/s400/animagic_ausbeute_x3.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 290px; width: 400px;" /></a><br /><br />● 'Love Love Mangaka' and 'Caramel Kiss' (very cute Manga x3)<br />● NES Controller & Star cans filled with Mints <br />● An autograph from Nina Werner! *D*<br />● <b>A </b><span style="font-weight: bold;">COPIC CIAO BAG FOR 72 MARKERS, FOR ONLY 10€! XD We just queued up for Nina (I like her work!) and stood there for an hour. Just when it was supposed to be OUR turn, the publisher dude arrived:<br /><span style="font-style: italic;"><br />"Sorry, we have to stop here, it's the other artists' turn now."</span><br /><br />Bruh.<br />I was so sad! But Nina was so nice Q_Q~ she signed cards on the side and gave them to us! <br />So sweet!<br /><br />After the book signing, the Tokyopop artists drew on a huge canvas: An illustration of Grimm's manga. <br />(Of course I forgot to take a photo....XD) Shortly after that we went to the 'art room' for a little drawing session.<br /><br />And here's a half-finished Miya:<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w-7TVmRuBjU/TjcErdbm63I/AAAAAAAAAY4/-5ONoOXBOho/s1600/schlechtesfoto.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5635978603358776178" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w-7TVmRuBjU/TjcErdbm63I/AAAAAAAAAY4/-5ONoOXBOho/s400/schlechtesfoto.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 335px; width: 400px;" /></a><br /><br />On Saturday we also watched the Dragonball performance by the group Daijoubu. <br />They are SO fun to watch! XD I loved their flyer:<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dSUU-ur1hiU/TjcG3OEi53I/AAAAAAAAAZI/gYq84bSpZrM/s1600/coolerflyer.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5635981004417197938" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dSUU-ur1hiU/TjcG3OEi53I/AAAAAAAAAZI/gYq84bSpZrM/s400/coolerflyer.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 277px; width: 400px;" /></a><br /><br />I laughed in tears, I had such a stomach ache after the show! XDDD<br />The hall was FULL when they performed, that's where I saw the group for the first time.<br /><br />Later that evening we went to see the Shanadoo concert at the convention *_*; I did'nt know any of their songs (my friends did) but it was just awesome!<br /><br />Well, those were just the highlights! I really enjoyed this con and next year I definitely have to go again *____*~ Miyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18303606383704279995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6459261867612473757.post-1465026809697334922011-06-01T22:22:00.005+02:002023-09-22T22:39:11.330+02:00Pastel Chalk QuickieYesterday I bought some new pastel chalks =D<br />(actually only 3 colours XD.....) I usually only work with ink on watercolour paintings and manga pages.<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Here is a short description of the process:</b><br /></div><div><br />I always make sketches with coloured mechanical pencils:<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG1HyXL8uI/AAAAAAAAAE8/dfjVrWXvSHg/s1600/farbstifte.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494872165751452386" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG1HyXL8uI/AAAAAAAAAE8/dfjVrWXvSHg/s400/farbstifte.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 300px; width: 400px;" /><br /></a><i>Pilot Color Eno</i><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />I bought them at the OCS Shop in Düsseldorf once and they are very useful! <br />Generally, I have got into the habit of working with colours when I make sketches.<br />With the lightest colour (in this case pink) I make the wire figure, with the light blue then the pose and with the dark blue or violet then the rough sketch.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">It looks something like this:<br /></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG1k7kAjKI/AAAAAAAAAFE/JSVK_vEbiFY/s1600/roughsketch001.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494872666437356706" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG1k7kAjKI/AAAAAAAAAFE/JSVK_vEbiFY/s400/roughsketch001.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 400px; width: 300px;" /></a><br /></div><div><br />Pretty messy and sloppy, but that's how I get the basic idea down on paper and smear it around a lot.<br />After that, everything is traced again, using normal printer paper.<br />This way the "sketch" is fixed before I get to the final artwork. You should always make several sketches of an artwork, that way most of the mistakes are eliminated.<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG4igEVLII/AAAAAAAAAFM/X8EfJi1DPqA/s1600/skizze002.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494875923231878274" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG4igEVLII/AAAAAAAAAFM/X8EfJi1DPqA/s400/skizze002.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 400px; width: 277px;" /></a><br /></div><div><br />My process is always quite long<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Rough Sketch ► Sketch ► Sketch <span style="font-style: italic;">(Number 2, sometimes) </span>► clean Sketch► Lineart ► Fine tuning ► Coloration ► Highlights & PC clean up</span><br /><br />Finally, I draw the sketch on drawing cardboard (190 g/m²) is sufficient.<br />The ink I use (<b>Pelikan Drawing Ink</b>) is REALLY great, it is completely opaque and doesn't run when it comes into contact with water! (I also use it for watercolour paintings).<br />I also use feathers from Deleter: <b>Saji, Maru and G-Pen.</b><br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG5LCXpKdI/AAAAAAAAAFU/D7O96mSAN-Q/s1600/material.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494876619634452946" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG5LCXpKdI/AAAAAAAAAFU/D7O96mSAN-Q/s400/material.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 300px; width: 400px;" /></a><br /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here's the final inked version of the artwork:<br /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG6owJ7KWI/AAAAAAAAAFc/Yi0F3irSJJk/s1600/outlines.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494878229652777314" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_zOnJla7sdS4/TEG6owJ7KWI/AAAAAAAAAFc/Yi0F3irSJJk/s400/outlines.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; height: 400px; width: 281px;" /></a><br /></div><div><br />But something was missing and I tried to spice it up with some screentones!
